Technical Support Representative

Growing Internet company located in Salem, MA is looking for a Technical Support Representative to join our team.

Description: The ideal candidate enjoys helping people, and will be responsible for responding to customers' questions and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner via telephone, email and live chat. Customer needs typically involve help with email mailing lists, web hosting and email.

Primary responsibilities include:

- Assisting customers with issues, services, and informing them of new features via phone, through email and live chat.
- Providing prospective clients with pre-sales support
- Informing clients about new features, products, services, etc.
- Aiding in the support of office workstations and phones
- Helping customers transfer websites, domains, modify DNS, etc.
- Creating and removing client accounts

Secondary responsibilities include:

- Keeping documentation on our website and owners manuals up to date
- Updating and writing FAQs for our knowledge base
- Providing training to customers
- Training to new employees on how to use company systems
- Suggesting process improvements for company-wide review

Qualifications:

- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Internet, Web-based services, email, domain names, e-commerce and Internet related business topics
- Proven experience in helping clients, Customer Service, or Technical Support
- Understanding of basic HTML tags and CSS
- Competent use of MS Office including Excel
- Passion and willingness to learn new technologies
- Experience communicating verbally with a variety of customers in a helpful, professional manner
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Flexibility, enthusiasm and professionalism
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
- Ability to multi-task efficiently

Preferred, but not required skills:

- Experience uploading websites and setting up email clients
- Experience sending out email newsletters
- Experience with cPanel and/or Lyris a big plus
- Some knowledge of scripting, programming, SQL, MS Access
- Experience in the Internet services industry
- Understanding of mailing list best practices, the CAN-SPAM act of 2003 and trends within the industry.

Hours: Full time 8-5 or 9-6 M-F. Average of 15 minutes nights/weekends from home.
