Description:

The Net Atlantic software team develops for and maintains two email marketing sending platforms. The team also develops new software products, tools, integrations, and solutions. A software development intern is a valuable member of the team and is exposed to many different software technologies. The intern is given a project that suits their experience and interests. A mentor is assigned to the intern and assists with the development tasks.

The Ideal Candidate:

A High School or College Student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Experience in one or more of the following:

• Object orientated development: Java, JSP, or similar
• Scripting development: Python, Perl, PHP or similar
• Web development: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Database development: MSSQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or similar
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Be self-motivated and self-disciplined
• Able to work both in teams and also individually

1. Port a set of web tools used by support team to using a data warehouse. Web development language was the choice of the intern.
2. Develop email validation tool. Create software as a service (SaaS) tool that processes hundreds of thousand email addresses. Validation rules included: Regex, MX lookup, SMTP check, email abuse history. The tool returns the results in a downloadable CSV file.
